Finally some answers

Just a quick update on the hubby. He went last week to see the regular doctor who told him to call the head and neck specialist. The specialist spent an hour just giving Remo a consultation and evaluation over the phone!! Seriously what the heck!!! She said she still wants to see him, but hasn't called in 2 days!! She wouldn't give Remo a work off excuse, and said it is probably not vertigo and he should wean off the patch and Dizzy drugs he has been taking. But he can still take them as needed. Remo and mom B. went back to his regular doctor. But the regular doctor wasn't in. A fill in retired doc was in. He agreed that the only way to get back to normal is to ditch the drugs. He couldn't believe it takes so long for someone to recover from motion sick and to have it all the time, said it was all made up in Remo's head. Mom was able to vouch and step in then. So, the result for now is he did give Remo a week off of work to detox from the meds and ordered a cat scan which we are waiting to hear when. Finally some steps forward.

My mom had an interview with a potential caregiver for my grandma. Basicly they are looking for a full time live in person. Things went well from what I heard, but they still have 2 more interviews this week to see if anyone will be the best fit. My mom is completely exhausted and ready to just pack and bundle grandma up and take her home here. It still could be a possibility. So hard to be so far away from the needs of your loved one.

So looking forward to a 4 day weekend!!! This taxi mom and caregiver is in need of serious ME time!!!!!!!

Hope Remo gets better. Believe me, I know it's hard having a spouse who doesn't feel good. Did he try Kevin's solution? Sorry about your Grandma.

We have a four day weekend, too! Just hope we're all well enough to enjoy it!

Kevin's solution? Did I miss something?

Kevin had vertigo really bad a few years ago....he read online somewhere about a technique where you basically overwhelm your sensors in your ear with movement and it turns off the vertigo. You should ask him about it. I know it worked for him.

Ron had a vertigo issue a few years back. That, coupled with his right ear going partially deaf, all started after a trip back from Julian and his ears having a hard time "popping." He went to an ears/nose/throat specialist who could tell him nothing. He hasn't had any serious bouts of vertigo again, but his right ear is still muffled. At least that's his ongoing excuse for not hearing me! ;)

I didn't realize vertigo was so common. J had a serious bout with it back in Nov. So serious that we had to call 911 for an ambulance to take him to the ER. They did a CT scan right then and there and ruled out any other serious issues.

Sorry it's taking this long to get that CT scan. Maybe it's time to go back to Sharp.
