Kids

Emeline has been very sweet and given no fuss or complaining about being back at school, homework, and chores. She has been very pleasant and I have enjoyed her very much this week. She is at a growth spurt. She is eating more and I noticed her clothes are getting smaller cause she is taller! My sweet Noah on the other hand has turned the oposite and into a bit of sourpuss. He just started covering his ears and throwing tantrums just this week. It is like he has regressed. He is not eating as heartily. He is such a tease to Emeline too when she is home. Maybe he is acting out to get attention. I am freer now to spend time with him during the day. I try to do one fun thing with him a day. Today we washed and vacuumed the car. But lately I am counting down the days till he can go to school. Ready or not, come September he is so in. Haven't been too impressed with the kids in Emeline's class either, especially the teacher's own daughter. She was standing at the drinking fountain saying "Not my friend" to people. Also, Emeline's cute Dora backpack broke. They have no cute school ones out now. I let her use the one we take to Disneyland and Seaworld. It is red and white. She said that kids were making fun of her and saying she has a boy back pack. I told her to say anyone can have red. Why do kids have to be so mean? And this is just Kindergarten. We are seriously thinking public school for Noah. Thanks for reading and letting me rant. Hopefully the last half of the week will be better!

There are mean kids in every school no matter where you put them, sad to say. That's why I think it's so important that parents teach kids how to interact politely with other kids. Lost art. I got teased a lot for my big nose and short stature in elementary. I just talked back to people! I guess that's not great either...

P.S. I emailed you and Trimee via the Adventurers email address. I haven't heard back, but I'm guessing it's probably not checked often. Anyway, it's about an activity book, so if you get a chance to check it and respond, i'd 'preciate it. I don't have Trimee's #.

Well, in our experience, public school was worse. But it's not always the parents. Kids will be kids, after all. Our job is to make our kids so resilient, it doesn't matter what someone says to them. Like water off a ducks back.

Oh no! I'm sorry about the kids at school. That's terrible! What happened to the innocense (sp?) of kids at such a young age?
