My Minor Surgery/School Update

So, at my last regular eye exam the doc noticed a big bubble growth near my eyeball. My kids are starting to notice and ask questions. Some of you may have noticed it too. It has been there for about 3 years but progressively growing bigger. My nose piece of my glasses sits on it and it is just becoming more and more irritated. I saw the opthamologist today. He said that a gland got infected and filled with fluid. So really it was kind of like a big zit. It was hard and calcified. My hubby has even tried to pick at it and pop it, but it hurt too much. Anyhow, the doctor said he could perform a minor surgery in 10 min. right there in the chair in the office. I laid back and kept my eyes closed for the whole process. He had to give me 7 shots of numbing stuff around the lid of the eye. Ok, that part hurt. Then, I could feel and hear him using scissors to cut away the growth. I didn't feel any pain throughout the process. Sure enough in 10 minutes I was done. NO MORE GROSS BUBBLE! Amazing. My eyelid will be puffy and black and blue for a few days due to the shots, but overall I am pleased. I wonder if this is what women feel like after Botox. I hate needles, so no thanks. I will live with my wrinkles. I told the hubby, "If I can stand a few needles and minor owie, he can too. He is not the slight bit worried or anxious about his little procedure on Friday. He keeps saying it will be like going to the dentist. I turned in my school application and am awaiting my class schedule to begin my masters program in September. I am excited and nervous. It's been a long time since I was the student. I will keep you posted. Got to wash some dirty kids now and get some chow.

We are officially rid of the crap junk food like chips, unhealthy snacks, and ice cream in our house. As of today I am joining the loosers in a quest for healthier eating. I am not playing the game, but am doing it for myself. Since Sunday I only eat 2 meals a day, one of which is a big salad. I can feel my fat pants getting looser already! Let's go loosers let's go!!!!!!

Be careful about eating too little. If you don't take in enough calories your body will go in starvation mode and actually decrease your metabolism and store everything you eat as fat.

i never noticed the bump, but good job on doing so well at the doctors. i don't mind dentists, or medical doctors, but i just hate going to the optomitrist. i wish you the best when you start school and with eating healthier.
