Look what we found

I walked out to go to the garage and do laundry. Noah was with me. He went to go back inside the front door and says, "Mommy there is a snake." I yell to him to go inside and don't open the door and get daddy. The snake was hissing and waving its tail ready to strike. The curious kids kept trying to open the door to look at it. I kept yelling, "Get daddy, close the door now." It was on the step right outside our front door at this time. I went inside via the back door. Remo tried to catch the snake. He got it cornered and was going to chop it in half. It got away. We think it is a California Kingsnake, nonvenemous. But still, my heart is racing still. Never know what you are going to find outside your front door!

Cool snake, too bad you couldn't catch it. I think the only poisonous snakes in CA are rattlers, and those are unmistakable.
