Flashing Lights and ACTION

It felt good enough to attend and teach SS again. The kids made me a get well poster how sweet! Then we headed to SDA to check out the alumni celebration. It was my hubby's 20th. No offense, but it is always the older generations that really care and go to this. I napped and lounged all afternoon and evening cause I was just plain pooped and exhausted.

Early evening we all went out for a ride and donut run. As we were leaving the shop and starting to gain speed this jerk decided to out race us. We were signaling to get over and he wasn't budging. So, the hubby stepped on the speed and we went through a yellow light. Yes, yellow. Then red, white, and blue lights behind us did appear. We pulled over and the hubby took out the papers. He told the cop he was passed the limit line before the light turned red. He went into this whole story about going to police academy and even mentioned penal codes. He even mentioned how he would go to court to fight the ticket. Then the cop asked how old the kids were. He said they needed to be 6 in order to sit in booster seats. Great. He was just being an old fart trying to bust us for a bunch of stuff. After 10 minutes he let us go and said,"If you say you were passed the limit line then you probably were. As for the kids, make sure they have the proper chairs." Whew. By the way, we looked up the booster chairs, and they are too legal and we are fine. I think the cop needs to read up and do his homework. After that ordeal we needed some comfort food like ice cream and coffee. Traveling home we were passed by 4 fire trucks, that turned into PV church. Of course we had to follow and see the fuss. There was no fire, but they were some faulty wires in one of the pastor study rooms that must have triggered the alarm. What an exciting night! Lots of lights and action. Happy March and week!

My mom was telling about that today. She was there for a memorial service when all the action occurred. She said that she heard a snap and then smelled something bad. That's when all the firetrucks rolled in.

Glad you didn't get a ticket...Ryan didn't ride in a booster seat until after Ella was born, so he was almost 6, but I don't know what the requirements are. He just didn't feel safe unless he had the 5 point harness in the car seat! :)
