I'm a Clencher

So the hubby and I went for our 6 month cleaning at the dentist. We have good brushing and home health care, but I was diagnosed as a clencher. I had discovered a slight hole in one of my back teeth which is becoming more sensitive. Thank goodness no cavity, but I guess I clench at night. So after the new year I will be fitted for a night guard. We are all over our colds finally. Rest of today will be spent doing chores and Emeline's birthday invitations! I still can't believe she is going to be 5.

Here at the clinic, the patient normally doesn't get a choice. We do the impressions and it gets sent out to be made at the lab.

Oh I see well I guess whatever the doc gets then. Are they uncomfortable? Are they hard or flexible?

I like cleanings.

Are you going to be around January 1st, 2nd, or 3rd? Terri Lynn and I will be in SD with my parents and brother. We're staying on North Island.

Chris: Yes we will be here and Love to go to Seaworld too! Call us!

April: Yes, the doc will order one for me. After the new year and after we find out if insurance covers it.

We will have the kids done by Auntie Keri in the New Year.

Sorry don't know of any icky patients. We don't qualify for that category.

Most insurance doesn't cover nightguards...if they do cover it, it will be at 50% only. The ones the lab makes from the impressions the doctor takes are thinner (there are soft ones, hard ones, and hard ones with soft liners), and custom made. However, the ones for $20 at Wal-mart are actually pretty nice, and Remo can file them down with a drummel tool to make them thinner and more custom...the ones from the lab can run upwards of $500, depending on which type you end up getting. I think it's worth trying the $20 ones and if they work for you, great...I personally like using my really thin bleach trays for myself...the others are way too thick and annoying (even the custom made ones). Wow! Long answer....sorry!
