What a Weekend.......

Saturday-- Went to church and made it for at least half of Sabbath school and Chula Vista for church. Came home made a quickie meal, played games with kiddies and tried to keep the peace while daddy slept. Met at the Vanjay home by 6 for a play date. Noah loves Nicholas's jumpy jump and Nicholas and Emeline had their own computer party (thanks Jay for setting it up). Made pizza for the kids, then back to the computers they went. Vangie and I settled down to watch Babel. I know it got lots of awards, but it was hard to follow the story. Kept jumping from different stories. Grace and Peter dropped by. Vangie had these cute adorable sticker eggs. Thanks that was so fun! A lot less messy!! Got home after 11 and me and the babies crashed in bed!

Sunday-- Awww. Slept in. Made the family a hearty healthy pancake supreme breakfast. Did some light cleaning. Jumped in shower and was preparing to go to Jenifers b-day party. No sooner was I out of the tub when Noah comes to announce that his diaper was off and he had just peed on the floor. I didn't get mad and said "I;ll be right out." I was drying off when he came in again and said "I just peed again." I ran butt naked to check the damage. This time I was not so kind. It looked like he had just peed like a dog all over the wall and carpet in the kitchen and on his shirt. I tried to explain that is what dogs do. I put the potty chair in the living room and said "From now on this is where we do the pee." Finally we were all set to go at 1:15. There was quite a lot of traffic for a Sunday. We got to the McDonald's near the 805 freeway. We were stopped and then the light turned green. I pushed on the gas to go, and the car in front of me didn't budge. So SMACK! They immediately put on their flashers and wanted to stop in the middle of the freakin intersection. Both cars were drivable so I put on my blinker and motioned for them to pull over. That is what my good hubby taught me to do. Pull of the road if you can. I was very proud of how calmly I handled the situation. I got out and immediately admitted it was my fault. I asked if anyone was hurt. Clearly no one was. There were 4 passengers in the car we hit--all older Filipinos, then me and the babies. I spoke because no one was. In a calm voice I said "That is good that no one is hurt." I don't think we need to call the cops because it was just paint damage. We immediately began to exchange info. I could only find an old insurance claim. The wife of the husband i hit kept trying to argue with me that our insurance was expired. I called my hubby and said could they come over and see we do have proof of current insurance. They followed me home. My hubby showed them it wasn't expired and we even let them keep the old stub for the info. My hubby was very nice to me. To be honest, the damage to our car is not worth fixing--because there is nothing to fix. Barely a scratch. The damage to the other car was just paint, hardly no denting. Our license plate basically hit their plastic bumper causing some white and blue paint to scratch. I mean come on at not even 1 mile an hour. After they left my hubby tried to call them and say "Let's just settle for 400. " The lady started mentioning, they need a rental car and need to see a chiropractor all 4 of them." So my hubby said "Then we will just deal with the insurance then." Sorry but what jerks. Everyone got out of the car and it was clearly seen everyone was fine. We called our insurance first but decided not to claim our car it isn't worth it. I wish we could have taken a picture of their car. Damn. They were already peeved. So, please pray that our insurance won't go up tremendously and that we won't be sued. The babies and I are fine. They didn't even know what happened except we never made it to the b-day party. I explained to them that mommy made a boo boo and messed up and had to fix it. I am fine. I was too shook up to continue to drive anymore today. The K. grandparents will come over later and we will have a relaxed and kick back evening. Oh yeah. Happy April Fools! All the above was real and not a joke!

so sorry about that wendy. sounds like not much damage but lets just hope those people are honest and don't bang up their car more and claim they are injured.

Sorry Wendy, I'm sure it will work out. Insurance companies are good at telling if someone is making a big deal out of nothing...they deal with it all the time! Don't worry, I'm sure it will work out.

Thanks everyone for your positive and encouraging words. What is done is done, and we just need to wait and let the insurance handle it. At least I had some!!!!
