Keeping Kool and Major Milestone

We are in the peak of summer. It has been so humid and hot lately the only relief is to sit in front of a fan or AC or to sit in a pool of water. Today we went to grandma K.'s big community pool. The kids had a blast in the 3 1/2 foot deep pool. Emeline and grandma swam into the 8 foot section. Noah won't use anything but his own potty so we have to take it along on most outings. I didn't bring it today. He had to pee real bad and DID NOT go in the pool. I took him into the bathroom and showed him how to sit and pee on the big potty. He did it!!!!!!!! In fact he went back 2 times to the public restroom to pee. I am hoping we don't have to bring the baby potty to Disneyland. Both kids took a nap at the same time today. I should have napped too, but took advantage and got some house projects done. Finally had my chicken salad for dinner. Chores are done and time to veg in front of the T.V. I plan to watch Elisabeth Town. Happy Hump Day!!!!!!!!

Yes, hopefully you won't have to carry around the potty at Disneyland. How is he at night? What worked for Nicholas is watching kids his age go into the bathroom to potty. Not actually watching them use the potty, but the fact that they went into the bathroom and walked out of it perfectly fine, made the difference, I think.

Thanks for the tip. I think it is daddy's turn to take him into the bathroom to pee like a boy. At night he has to wear a diaper because he will wet the bed. Still 1 diaper a day is better than 5. Maybe Nicholas can go wtih him at Disneyland!!!!

Yes, he can go with Nicholas to the bathroom at Disneyland. I think it really makes a difference for him to see the other kids use a public bathroom and I do think Remo needs to start taking him into the bathroom.

Maybe you can do what Valerie suggested for night time. Put on his underwear then diaper underneath. That way he can feel the wetness of the underwear (that may prevent him from peeing at night if he doesn't like the way it feels), but your sheets won't get wet because of the diaper.
